Good Food & Wine
Chef Proprietor Matt Seddon says: "I prepare everything myself from the daily bread through to a selection of ice creams and sorbets. I like to make the best use of seasonal ingredients from local suppliers, and use the kitchen garden at Craigieburn House in the Moffat Water valley during the summer months."
Our wines are sourced through the renowned wine merchants Corney and Barrow with Wighams of Ayr, and we have put together a short, characterful selection to complement the style of food.
The Restaurant
The Limetree is in one of Moffat's oldest buildings at the North end of the High Street, taking its name from the row of lime or linden trees on the main square. A delightful cottage-style building, with painted rough-stone walls and a warm contemporary feel, the restaurant welcomes diners for all special occasions - a meal with friends or an impromptu supper.

Approach
Our aim at the Limetree is quite simple - to serve good food and wine in pleasant surroundings at sensible prices.
We believe in getting the basics right - fresh baked bread, wines with character, a menu with great depth of flavour, and friendly, efficient, informal service.
The menu changes regularly; take a look at the sample menus.
